Hedge Fund Strategies
| Water and Clean Technology |
Sector strategy focused on water and clean technology, including alternative energy, conservation technologies and related businesses. Strategy invests globally, in both public and private companies. Employs a fundamental, bottom-up investment approach in order to identify companies that may benefit, or suffer, from changes in technology, infrastructure spending or economic or environmental regulation. Seeks absolute returns with objectives of long-term growth and capital preservation. |
| Aerospace, Defense and Security |
Long/short sector strategy focused on aerospace, defense and security industries, as well as related businesses. Strategy invests globally, with a primary focus on public equity, and follows a fundamental, bottom-up investment approach. |
| Distressed Credit and Special Situations |
Strategy focused on event-driven opportunities, targeting distressed and otherwise out-of favor or overlooked special situations. Invests across the capital structure, with focus on long distressed credit, “event stressed” equities and asset plays. Seeks to express investment conviction in structures that may offer valuation asymmetry and idiosyncratic risk/reward. Goal is to provide attractive, minimally correlated returns across varied market conditions. |
| Asset-Based Opportunities |
Strategy based upon fundamental due diligence and analysis of complex asset-based investments. Focus on structuring deals for performing assets, either individual or pooled, with high technical barriers to entry. Investments may span public or private securities, loans, joint ventures or partnerships, as well as opportunistic direct origination. Seeks to identify, value and invest in cash flow streams with asymmetric risk-return profiles. |
Multi-Manager Strategies
| "Large Endowment" Model |
Multi-manager strategy designed to provide clients who lack significant investment staff, access or resources the potential to earn returns comparable to those of large endowments. Investment strategy employs open architecture investment selection, active management and integrated risk management. Key characteristic is broad diversification by asset class, strategy and geography. As such, the investment strategy is comprised of five different asset class sub-strategies: global equities, global fixed income, absolute return, private capital and real return assets. Investors may select either a comprehensive portfolio solution or any combination of underlying sub-strategies. |
Private Equity Strategies
| Real Estate Private Equity |
Opportunistic investment strategy focused on real estate and real estate related opportunities, primarily in Europe. Seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns by pursuing complex investments capitalizing on various emerging distress situations or focusing on operational leverage and/or value-added real estate activity. |
