Mr. Becker is a Partner and Head of Perella Weinberg Partners’ Advisory business in Europe.
Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners in 2006, Mr. Becker served as Co-Head of Morgan Stanley’s Global Industrial Group and as one of the firm’s most senior German investment bankers. He began his investment banking career with Merrill Lynch in 1991.
Mr. Becker has been involved, in a leading role, in a broad range of M&A transactions involving some of Germany’s leading companies and industrial clients worldwide. His specific focus is on public market M&A transactions, raid and activist defense and the strategic transformation of industrial manufacturing companies. Recent transactions include Fortum/Uniper, Linde/Praxair, Deutsche Wohnen/Vonovia, Holcim/Lafarge, Konecranes/Terex, KabelDeutschland/Vodafone, Outokumpu/ThyssenKrupp and the attempted EADS/BAE Systems merger. Previously Mr. Becker advised the respective targets on the hostile takeovers of Mannesmann by Vodafone and Continental by Schaeffler.
Mr. Becker received a degree from Cologne University Law School and a Masters in Business Administration from New York University Stern Graduate School of Business. He serves as a member of the Board of Overseers of the NYU Stern School of Business.
